Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills in the year 1956. Her father worked as an educator at school while her mother was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. From a young age, McCormick loved to sing as well as dance. She would also perform puppet shows for the neighborhood children. At the age 6years old, she won at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether she was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick was chosen to play in her first major performance in 1964 on the tv spot for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the leading character on The Wind It up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won an audition in 1969 from over more than 1200 children to become the oldest of the three twin daughters in the TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show ran for 5 seasons. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick admitted that in the fifth season of the show, she nearly lost her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was 16. She said that it would have been feasible, but we didn't have the proper moment to make the decision.
